SPARQL language has been used extensively for querying semantic contents in general, but it still lacks some features that are necessary for handling multimedia fragments. As a result, temporal queries cannot be issued and hence special SPARQL extension becomes inevitable. In this paper, we show how complex operations of such an extension can be simplified by means of prior execution of native SPARQL operations. In addition, we describe how various forms of temporal queries can be devised in our proposed model. Based on the preliminary results of our experiments, we believe that our simple approach to extend SPARQL capability can empower users to implement desired functions suited to their working environments, without relying solely on non-standard SPARQL extensions as found in the literature.
