TCP Fairness Evaluation with Modified Controlled Delay in the Practical Networks

The recent networks have problems on TCP fairness and Bufferbloat. The former is the fairness among TCP algorithms, which many proposals of fast TCP algorithms have raised. The latter is the high latency in packet-switched networks due to the excess buffering of packets in network elements. CoDel was proposed to overcome Bufferbloat. In addition, we demonstrated that applying CoDel improved the TCP fairness and proposed to enhance CoDel in order to improve TCP fairness in our previous work. This method was evaluated only on non-practical networks, which are networks in our laboratory for evaluation. In this paper, we present performance evaluations of the method on practical networks and demonstrate that the method can improve TCP fairness in these networks.
