MODIFIED THOMAS-FERMI APPROXIMATION FOR MOMENTUM-DEPENDENT INTERACTIONS

A modification of the standard Thomas-Fermi approximation is suggested for the treatment of many-particle models with interactions having a quadratic momentum dependence.A numerical illustration is made for the nuc lear surface.
