This paper presents a computationally efficient two-dimensional wideband direction-of-arrival estimation method for an L-shaped microphone array model. Unlike other wideband coherent signal subspace approaches, the novel method requires no transformation matrix construction or initial estimation techniques because it exploits the unique cross-correlation matrices, where elements in the row and column positions are a sample cross-correlation of two distinct frequencies. A numerical simulation shows that the performance of proposed method can be especially effective. Furthermore, the computational complexity is significantly lower than it is in some existing methods, making it suitable for embedded systems and real-time applications.
