Using the BNC XML edition for language teaching and learning

This paper presents the XML edition of the British National Corpus, released by Oxford University Computing Services in 2007, and describes the main changes made to the corpus and to the interrogation software XAIRA (XML-aware indexing and retrieval application), outlining their potential relevance to language teaching and learning contexts.
