Software development is one of the fastest growing industry in this era. Even the developing countries like Pakistan are examining a rapid growth in this sector. Almost every software development organization in the world follows the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Requirement engineering is the primary and most important part of the whole development process. Use of actual requirement engineering practices is a key factor for the success of projects. In this paper, our team focused on the customized requirement engineering practices followed by the software development organization of Pakistan. The study is conducted by collecting the data from different software industries. Then we analyzed the data by using statistical software like SPSS and Minitab. The information developed by carrying out this study will be useful for all participants in the local and global software industry, including IT professionals, IT project managers and Pakistan Software Export Board.
