Application of CART decision tree combined with PCA algorithm in intrusion detection

This paper points out that the insignificancy of ID3 and C4.5 algorithms used in the intrusion detection application, and the CART algorithm based on dichotomy is used to simplify the decision tree scale and achieve the classification purpose. To improve the accuracy of intrusion detection, the PCA principal component analysis is proposed to reduce the dimension, KDD CUP 1999 data set is used in the experiment and the result shows that the model can effectively identify and improve the detection accuracy of network attack behavior.
