Due to the increasing use of self-service automated systems there is a constant need for their improvement. One form of improvement is the expansion of functionality and the introduction of new technologies. However, it is not enough just to provide a service, but it is also important how the service is provided. The service must be accessible, consistent and reliable. Otherwise, users will be unsatisfied and may no longer use the service provided by the automated system or they will use the automated system of another manufacturer. This is especially true for new services and technologies that are being introduced. The profitability of a self-service automated system depends on its productivity and the quality of the service it provides. For this reason it is very important that the service provided by the self-service automated system to the user is constantly available. This paper describes software support for the NS Bike bicycle renting system.
