An improved visibilty enhancement method for foggy images

Image fog elimination has become an effective research direction because of the progress in computer vision systems. Images captured in poor weather conditions are degraded by atmospheric light scattering, which leads to variation in visual effects. To diminish the encountered dark channel prior challenge, a study over the proposed algorithm is made in this paper. Quantitative and qualitative analysis is also carried out over the hazy images for both proposed algorithm and existing techniques. The simulated results designate the high similarity to the ground truth, high maintenance of true image colors and 80% lesser computation time.
