Real-time communication has become extremely important. Users exchange information using video for better visualization. Having known the important of using real-time data, this paper proposed a survey on Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) in Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) for a real-time communication. By conducted this survey, the aim is to reduce system redundancies and signal load. Moreover, this survey is to reduce the handover latency and packet lost for streaming real-time communication between a source and a client. The simulation is proposed to be conducted in a network simulation namely NS-2. Having performed the simulation, we propose to analyze the performance of the integrated scheme and compare the proposed protocols with current protocols. We believe that with the integration of SIP over WMN, this can reduce the latency and thus provide better real-time communication to the end users.
