Max-plus algebra-based Morphological Wavelet Transform (MMT) watermarking is a mobile-dedicated data embedding method for image watermarking [1]. The performance of the watermarking process is considered important in mobile devices since real time processing speed is more important due to limitations in processing power and battery life. This method uses an integer representations for all variables used in embedding and doesn't use complex numbers, trigonometric values and floating points which could otherwise be used to minimise distortion of the watermarked image in favour of the fact that it reduces the complexity of the watermarking process and thus drastically reduces the number of CPU clock cycles required for processing [1]. The execution time of the process is used to assess the real-time performance of this watermarking method on mobile devices. All implementations for MMT watermarking in this paper have been done purely on stock android phones with no modifications to their hardware and are supported by phones running Android versions 2.2 up to 7.1.
