This Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches thesis comes back on around a decade of both theoretical and practical contributions to the field of combinatorial optimization, with main applications to telecommunications and computer systems optimization (wireless switching systems and parallel microprocessors, respectively). This work is also characterized by the end-to-end resolution of many difficult real-world industrial problems, from the initial mathematical modelling down to the design of practical though theoretically sound algorithms.
