WSNs are generally a combination of large number of low-cost and small homogeneous sensors connected by a wireless network that collect data to be treated locally or transferred to the sink node through multi-hop wireless transmission. Due to constraints of the resources such as limited energy, restricted transceiving range, and lower computational capabilities; it is a challenging task for the researchers. Several solutions were existing to overcome the issues. Clustering algorithms have been widely accepted to minimize energy consumption. In this scenario, one of the main purposes is to select clusters alternately for the entire network to reduce traffic by easy adaptation of network path. Through this paper we have proposed an Optimal Clustering Algorithm (OCA) which focuses on increasing network lifespan and node mobility through hybrid hop management mechanism.
