An adaptive anisotropic thermal diffusion filter for image smoothing

Image enhancement is an important topic in image processing and image smoothing is an important content in the field of image enhancement. In this paper, we propose an image smoothing method based on adaptive anisotropic thermal diffusion equation. Based on the analysis of anisotropic thermal diffusion equation, the adaptive calculation methods of two parameters in the equation are presented. The experiment results show that the adaptive image smoothing algorithm can effectively preserve the details of the image while reducing noise.
