Artificial bee colony algorithm based on Lévy flights for global optimization

Ye Tian, Xiangming Fang, Fengrong Zhang · 2017

Artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm invented recently is a biological-inspired optimization algorithm, which simulates social behaviors of bee swarm, and has been successfully applied in various fields. In this paper, a LFABC algorithm hybridizing ABC and Lévy flights was presented. This algorithm can speed convergence as well as maintain the diversity of the population by making use of standard ABC's global search and large angular random walk of Lévy flights. Comparison results with some existing optimization algorithm show the effectiveness and efficiency of the new hybrid algorithm.
