Edge Detection Based on Receptive Field

This paper proposes an edge detector based on receptive fields of retinal ganglion cells, using a convolution mask with variable weights. The edge detector proposed is fast, simple and not sensitive to edge orientation, the edges are detected in only one step and can be used mask of variable dimensions. The paper describes how to edge detector was made and shown results from its application.
