The software industries have moved to incremental project development, to gain the ability of improving success rates as the incremental development enhances their learning curves. The overall project success and failure rates need to be mapped to the rates of different increments. The post delivery failure & Pre-delivery failures rates and failure and success parameters need to be analyzed. These issues are analyzed using the empirical study conducted with the software engineers of three multinational firms. The results indicate that the organizations have high success rates of overall projects and especially of later increments although the success definitions vary from organization to organization.
