Shubhra Gautam, Deepak Kumar, Lalit Mohan Patnaik · 2017

The demand of highly reliable software systems has resulted in rigorous testing of the software. A major part of the software development cost is assigned to the testing phase. Now a day, along with the development cost, the maintenance cost during the warranty period is also included in the cost function. The optimal release time prediction is the biggest concern of the software development team. In recent times many models have been developed. Most of the work done in the literature for determination of Software release time problem focuses on crisp optimization problem. This paper discusses the bi-criterion release time prediction using fuzzy Logic, considering testing cost and reliability in the objective function and time as constraint. The problem is solved by using the concepts of fuzzy logic. The optimization problem is validated on the real dataset, results are compared with models described in literature review and results of proposed fuzzy rule base model are appreciable as compared to existing models.
