In this study, we compare the management efficiency and productivity of Korean, Japanese and global logistics companies using DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) model and Malmquist Productivity Index for three years from 2011 to 2013. Our results indicate that Hyundai Glovis, Pantos Logistics, Samsung Electronics Logitech, Hwaseung Networks, Yusen Logistics, Kuehne + Nagel, C.H. Robinson are considered to be benchmark firms. Based on the data of 2013, we analyzed the profitability and marketability of all companies. As a result, the number of firms with low marketability and profitability is 21 in total, accounting for more than half of the 30 firms analyzed. Overall, most logistics companies seem to be in need of efficiency improvement. As a result of marketability and profitability analysis, Korean companies, which are highly marketable, mainly have large corporations as parent companies. In Korea, large logistics companies are mainly focused on two-party logistics rather than three-party logistics, despite being logistics specialists.
