Overview of VANET: Requirements and its routing protocols
Monika Jain, Rahul Saxena · 2017
Vehicular adhoc networks (VANET) is a famous and special kind of wireless mobile ad hoc network. It is ad-hoc network where each network node acts an independent and self-organized network. In VANET various routing protocols have been proposed and used and they are important issue for desirable VANET applications. In this paper, firstly we have discussed the requirement of VANET followed by several routing protocols for VANET in next section and presented a comparative study by considering their forwarding method, scenario, infrastructure, traffic flow information, and scenario and so on. The simulation results of position based routing protocols are discussed in terms of packet delivery ratio and throughput metrics Also the advantages and disadvantages of each VANET protocol is discussed.
