Modelling fault detection with change-point in agile software development environment

Abhishek Srivastava, P. K. Kapur, Deepti Mehrotra · 2017

On behest of the customer a software system should be designed in a way that it goes along parallel with the present user needs. New algorithms acts as guiding light for the persistently needed attention to the softwares. A software should be able to cater the rapidly changing needs & requirements of users. A satisfied user is a manifestation of a good approach & implementation of a much pragmatic way. User's requirements evolve over time with quick changing market needs which needs to be attended dynamically. This led to adopt an approach of agile to be adopted which is based on `lean' principles over the traditional software development life cycle (SDLC) approach. Collaborative work done with the project team leads a well-documented priority list of the needs. The implementation is done through “SCRUM” an empirical framework for learning. It has multiple sprints which is a deliverable product. This idea has substantially created a reduction in the `time to market' as the customer can decide which features of the software they would like to be delivered on a priority basis. To do the modelling of trends of fault detection in each sprint, a growth model of software reliability is used.
