Identity fraud is a significant threat. In the UK, for example, it is now the largest category of fraud carried out against individuals, with an estimated 3m victims and a cost of £5.4bn1 annually. Little wonder then that consumers are putting more pressure on businesses to adopt biometric solutions to tighten security procedures when on-boarding and verifying new customers2.
