Face detection based on LBP

Face detection is a difficult thing to distinguish face with skin color detection method. This paper presents a method of combining skin color detection and local binary model (LBP). When the number of skin pixels is larger than the set threshold, it is determined as the candidate face region. Otherwise, it is the non-face area. For the candidate region, the LBP detection is performed to get true face. The experimental results show that, through LBP step, false detection rate is significantly reduced.
