Three principles of sustainable interaction design, revisited
David Roedl, William Odom, Eli Blevis · 2017
Now 10 years since the notion of sustainable interaction design (SID) was introduced in Blevis (2007) , we revisit the framing that was proposed at that time, and review the ways these concepts have been explored and further developed in scholarly literature. In addition, we identify gaps in the current knowledge and suggest opportunities for new research. Finally, we reflect on the extent that the SID principles remain relevant to the contemporary and future challenges of designing digital technologies in a manner compatible with environmental sustainability.
