Measurement systems for determining the characteristics of electrical machines

In today's time, energy efficiency is very important for the sustainable development of modern society. The fact is that most of the produced electrical energy is converted to mechanical energy by electrical machines, which consequently need to operate with as high efficiency as possible. Thus, manufacturers of electrical machines are always faced with new directives and standards that prescribe efficiency classes. In practice, it is necessary to check the performance of each electrical machine, which can be carried out with special hardware, measuring instruments and software. This article presents various types of measurement systems for determining the characteristics of electrical machines. Based on experiences from laboratories already in operation, the possible implementation of measurement systems for electrical machines in practice are presented in detail, considering measurement and control part of the system.
