Generally Indian instrumental music audio is composite in nature consisting too many dependent and independent components to analyze. Thus study of such an audio track is very cumbersome. To ease this process we have come up with an algorithm which separates only the Lead component which is of major importance in the overall track. The main two components are harmonic which includes the Lead instrument and the Percussion. In this paper we develop a method for Lead source sound separation for Indian instrumental polyphonic audio signal. Based on pre-existing algorithm of harmonic and percussion sound separation, we would like to propose a method for the Lead and Percussion sound separation for the Indian instrumental multitrack audio. We make use of the spectrographic properties of both the components for the separation of the spectra. We apply a joint minimization process for the auxiliary function used and update the equation for every iteration. This guarantees the perfect separation of the Lead source without much leakages components.
