A magnetic amorphous wire based weighing scale

Cristian Zet, Cristian Foşalău, Ionel Hogas · 2017

The paper presents an application of magnetic amorphous wires. The present approach uses 4 amorphous magnetic wires as sensing elements for building a weighing scale. They wires are connected in a Wheatstone bridge like circuit. The turntable is suspended on all 4 wires, being attached in the middle of each of them. The bridge is supplied in AC and its output is amplified and rectified. The DC output value is carrying the information about the mass placed on the turntable. The output results in a linear dependence with the measured mass. The device construction, the measurement results and the errors are presented in the paper.
