Telemedicine focuses on employing communication technologies for remotely located health centers and patients based on telemedicine services. Several services which may include transmission of private patients health data through text, images and other forms of data for diagnosis of treatment, prevention or analysis with respect to the services. Telemedicine services contribute a lot to the society by helping in health improvement and those applications are constructively valuable. Nevertheless, the utilization of telemedicine solutions should be kept aware including processing patient's data and transfer through Public network. It is important to view this issue from the perception of data security. Medical images which are stored in cloud-based health information systems seek attention. Privacy and security of such images should be guaranteed through several cryptographic techniques and steganography processes. In this paper, we propose a novel technique for image authentication, integrity and medical data hiding in those images using Tree Based Steganography [TBS] technique. The medical data and the checksum of the Region Of Interest [ROI] are embedded in the Region of Non-Interest [RONI] region of the image using TBS technique which is comparatively simple for computation and effective by nature.
