LAN system hierarchical decomposition into basic elements has been carried out. In accordance with the received scheme, a list of equipment to be diagnosed is highlighted. Each unit of LAN equipment has been evaluated for criticality. LAN good technical condition criteria are determined. Failures types, consequences and criticality for possible malfunctions are analyzed. Existing or emerging defects diagnostic indicators are determined.
