An analysis on student profiles in learning virtual environments

By means of the association of Psychology, Pedagogy and Computer Science concepts, it has been possible to develop several models, methods and tools to provide personalized education and adaptive support to different student's profiles. This knowledge area is associated with Adaptive Learning. In this context, this paper aims to present the state of the art regarding the definition of the student's profiles in Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs). Our contribution focuses on identifying what are the current technologies, patterns and models that support the identification of student's profile and their learning needs, and how the educational content could meet these profiles.
