An intelligent wireless sensor network based on ZigBee technology with cognitive function is designed in this study. Sensors collect sensed data, include spectral parameters of 2.4G channels. These data are transmitted to coordinator by RF modules. ARM processor in the coordinator receives data. It gets the information of the idle channel and controls the channel conversion after the operation of the ARM processor. Cognitive results are sent to the host computer at the same time via the network port. Combining the characteristics of ZigBee, the machine learning method is applied to spectrum hole detection in ZigBee networks. By combining the cognitive radio sensing theory with the channel jamming theory, the spectrum holes with higher availability are used as the transmission channel, so that ZigBee can be more effectively transmitted without interference.
