Modeling The Perception of Changes of Brightness (Flicker)

The model describing the flicker sensitivity of men, on which is based the European Standard EN 50.006, is improved. The model parameters were determined by steps from simple forms of the model to more generalized forms. It was intended to make the model's behavior equal to that measured at some representative kinds of light fluctuations. Simulation of the model and estimation of parameters were done on hybrid and digital computers.
