ASCII conversion based two keys V4S scheme for encryption and decryption — A four step approach

Chhavi Gupta, Prateek Thakral · 2017

This paper presents an interesting approach extending the approach of Vernam Cipher technique, Vigenere Cipher and Modified Caesar approach towards the creation of ciphertext using ASCII conversion in order to encrypt not only alphabets but stretching the boundaries to special symbols, numeric data as well as case sensitive data which is the utmost requirement for encrypting confidential information such as passwords. An attempt has been made with a view of secured strength algorithm to encrypt message using standard ASCII values. It is a 4 step scheme towards a secured mechanism with the use of 2 keys and hence it is named as V4S (Value four Step) scheme. The proposed scheme uses a cross table to generate intermediate text. ASCII conversion operations are performed on the Intersection Text and the first key in order to get the intermediate ciphertext. Second key is applied on the initial ciphertext to get the final ciphertext.
