PACS: a technical perspective

Technical review on advances in PACS is made briefly. New technologies such as magneto-optic disk, digital signal processor, neuro computer, fuzzy inference and optical computer are forecast in relation to PACS. Focussing on these, future perspective on digital imaging, diagnostic image workstation, memory and image database, and communication and network are investigated. The author forecast what the technical situation in PACS might happen in the year of A.D.2000.
