Ontology based research paper recommendation using personal ontology similarity method

Recommendation System predicts the user's item preferences and is used in many applications like YouTube, online shopping sites, etc. To find the interesting items recommendation systems help the users effectively. Current techniques used in recommendation systems have some problems like Cold start, Pair wise similarity problem and so on. To overcome these problems ontology based recommendation is used. Ontology specify the conceptualization explicitly. An ontology based recommendation for Computer Science related research papers is proposed here. Research Paper recommendation is very useful for researchers. Each user has a personal ontology and the similarity between these ontologies is found. Based on the similarity most relevant 10 papers are recommended to user. SVM classifier is used for similarity matching. Moreover, map reduce framework for ontology similarity can be implemented in future. Comparing with current research paper recommendation techniques Map Reduce technique may give high performance.
