Improvement of focusing of transmitted and received ultrasonic waves by a phased array acoustic lens

This paper describes focusing of transmitted and received ultrasonic waves by an acoustic lens based on a phased array. First, we theoretically analyzed the focusing characteristics of the transmitted ultrasonic waves of the phased array. Next, we built prototype phased array acoustic lens for received ultrasonic waves, which consists of ultrasonic receivers, ultrasonic transmitters, and electric circuits. As a result, our acoustic lens gets advantage that have possibility of using to ultrasonic measurement systems.
