Fragmentation Storage Model: An Efficient Privacy Protection Technology

Tie Hong, Jiangchun Ren · 2017

With the significant increase in the amount of data, outsourcing storage turns to be a trend, but there is a serious risk of data leakage. At the same time, data owners require the availability of data. As a result, outsourced storage is accompanied by the conflicts between data privacy and data availability. There are many scholars trying to outsource data by encrypting while ensuring the usability of cipher text. Traditional research methods are the searchable encryption and homomorphic encryption. However, their encryption designs are both sophisticated and inefficient. Therefore in order to get a compromise between privacy and availability, we will propose a new fragment storage model to improve data availability and security. We have compared the two time cost of fragment storage model and traditional method, and then concluded that fragment storage model can effectively reduce the time cost and guarantee the security at the same time.
