There is an emerging requirement in all modern Command & Control, Surveillance Systems for focusing on the capability of `Data Analysis', besides `Data Processing'. This means that the modern Command & Control Information Systems are required to be capable of understanding each piece of huge data they receive, interpreting them and extracting the meaningful information for processing and presentation to the user. In this paper, we have discussed the role of Analytics, particularly in the field of Image, Text, and Audio Analysis, in military Surveillance and Command & Control Systems. We have also discussed the basic processes involved in these analytic engines. We have presented a generic framework for development of Image & Text Analytic Engines based on military context and knowledge base for an integrated surveillance system for military application.
