Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) require accurate and energy-efficient clock synchronization for data fusion and other tasks. Clock frequency synchronization, also known as clock syntonization, aims to eliminate the frequency differences among nodes resulted from inherent inaccuracy of clocks. A protocol for syntonization of wireless sensor nodes is introduced in this demo. It is demonstrated that carrier frequency offset (CFO) can be utilized in CFO assisted syntonization (CFOSynt) to improve clock skew estimation, which benefits the energy efficiency and accuracy of clock syntonization. We use a commercial off-the-shelf platform to demonstrate the effectiveness of CFOSynt on common sensor nodes. The protocol exploits CFO from radio chip, estimates the hardware system clock skew and subsequently corrects the clock skew of the logical system clock.
