Wi-Fi Alliance: Connecting Everyone and Everything, Everywhere
I.J. Sherlock · IEEE Communications Standards Magazine · 2017
Wi-Fi success is a prime example of the importance of IEEE standards, and how they shape our world. The synergy between IEEE and Wi-Fi Alliance is one that benefits society in untold ways every day. The popularity of Wi-Fi and the benefits Wi-Fi brings demonstrate the tremendous value society extracts from unlicensed spectrum, and underscores the importance of ensuring sufficient spectrum access and maintaining etiquette protocols to ensure fair coexistence with other technologies. We invite IEEE technologists to engage with Wi-Fi Alliance to advance the work on coexistence, spectrum policy, and the evolution of Wi-Fi, a technology we all enjoy each and every day.
