Functions of bounded variation on effect algebras

Some properties of chain variation |ϕ|c of a function ϕ (non additive) defined on an effect algebra A are discussed. It is established that if ϕ is a null addiive (null null additive) on A, then |ϕ|c is null additive (null null additive). Finally, |ϕ|c + ϕ and |ϕ|c − ϕ are proved monotone.
