Ontology of information for tourism development planning in Thailand

This paper aimed to construct an ontology of information for tourism development planning. The research and development methods were used in the following steps: 1) documentation analysis and users' study to identify the information necessary for tourism development planning; 2) classification and development of information structure which would be used for ontology development, and 3) construction and evaluation of the ontology. The research result provides the ontology of information for tourism development planning which comprised of 15 main classes. Each class is divided into subclasses in which the relationships of them are direct properties of the class. The ontology can be used for information retrieval with the capacity of semantic search.
