A Cognitive Agent for Spectrum Monitoring and Informed Spectrum Access

Abstract : This report presents a cognitive approach to addressing spectrum monitoring and access. A cognitive software agent was written in MATLAB to demonstrate some basic capabilities of a cognitive architecture, namely, sensing, analysis, learning, short- and long-term memory, problem solving, decision making, and focus of attention. The goal of the cognitive agent was to mimic intelligent behavior with respect to spectrum access.
