End-to-End Flow-Level Quality-of-Service Guarantees for Switched Networks
Fabien Geyer · 2015
This thesis studies the question of Quality-of-Service guarantees at flow level for industrial Ethernet networks. Packet scheduling algorithms are studied to realize hybrid networks shared by best-effort and guaranteed low-latency services. A flow-level evaluation framewok for TCP and UDP flows is developed to characterize statistical performance properties of infinite and short flows. The application layer is modeled to describe realistic protocols behavior.
