Computing developments in chemical engineering

RM Allen · New Zealand Engineering · 1973

Computing in chemical engineering covers a wide range of calculation from jottings on the back of an envelope, through graphical and slide rule calculations, to largescale numerical and computer procedures. Computer methods have been economical only for complex or repetitive calculations, but applications are diffusing to smaller problems and non-calculational tasks as computer facilities become more and more common and are being directed more to the needs of the user.
