This dissertation introduces an integrated model-based performance evaluation and capacity planning approach for enterprise applications (EA). The performance evaluation method detects performance changes in EA versions to ensure quality even in the rapid release frequency of modern development processes. The capacity planning method uses models created for each EA version during the performance change detection to predict the hardware environment needed to support given workloads and performance requirements. Both methods, their integration and their underlying techniques are evaluated using experiments for a representative EA.
