The dimer acid diisocyanate(DDI) is a kind of aliphatic(cyclo) isocyanate with dimer fatty acid main chain structure, and possesses the characteristics of low carbon, green and non-toxicity. The main chain structure, physico-chemical properties and main synthesis processes including azide method and primary amine method of DDI are introduced. It is suggested that the preparation and application investigation of DDI should be developed strongly by the domestic related enterprises.
