PORTALTSI - INFORMATION SYSTEMS PORTAL: FRONT-ENDSPECIFICATION USING USE-CASES

In the last years the World Wide Web (WWW) showed an exponential growth in different dimensions. The range of dimensions vary from involved technologies to the volume of available and published information, promoting WWW to the status of a major global information storage and searching infrastructure. On the other hand, it raised significant problems, such as the increasing difficulty and complexity of information gathering. One of the proposed solutions to solve (or, at least, to minimize this problem) are Web portals, specially the Vertical portals. In this paper, we present an UML Use-cases specification for the front-end of PortalTSI, a new Vertical portal for the information technology and information systems area.
