Low cost solution of performing torsion testing of materials

The paper provides the basic idea of mechanical structure, electrical circuitry and working of an economical and easy to use automated torsion testing machine and describes some novelty ideas to improve the efficiency of the machine. The machine is specially designed for educational purposes. This machine can be kept in college and university laboratories for developing among students the understanding of the torsion test and stress-strain analysis. The machine is capable of providing visual display of stress-strain graph that helps the students to develop better understanding of the relationship between stresses and strains involved in bending a particular material.
