Recent embedded systems employ multiprocessor system-on-chip (MPSoC) that incorporate heterogeneous processing cores to offer an optimized solution in terms of performance, power consumption and dependability. Considering the growing design complexity of such systems, fast and accurate performance simulation of out-of-order processing cores is required. This thesis presents a novel approach and a tool for fast and accurate reproduction of the processor’s out-of-order behavior and fast design space exploration of MPSoC.
